Quick update: What's going on with Itch.io?

Hey everyone, If you’ve been wondering why things seem quieter than usual... you're not imagining it.

Itch has recently deindexed all adult NSFW games from their search and browse pages due to pressure from payment processors. This means many games (including mine) are no longer discoverable through normal browsing, even if they're completely within TOS.

Recall Destiny hasn’t been removed, but this heavily impacts traffic, visibility and growth.

I’m still working hard on Chapter 2 and beyond, but if you enjoy the game or want to stay in the loop, I highly recommend following me on:
1. PATREON: Free members can access Devlogs and the Game Updates upon public release.
2. DISCORD: Chat, updates, and the safest way to stay connected no matter what happens.

I’ll keep posting here as long as I can, but just in case things change, I want to make sure you don’t lose track of Recall Destiny.
Thanks for sticking around.

Since it's mostly the Search that has been disrupted on Itch, I collected all the links I had to pages that haven't been deleted, and save them to this collection: https://itch.io/c/6089350/find-all-the-avns-i-could-save-links-to

Save this link, share it, let me know if you have more. This will make sure people can still find our favorite stuff.

Appreciate you putting this together. A lot of us are in the same boat right now, just trying to keep our work alive while the ground shifts under us. Respect.

Concerning the removal of NSFW content from content creator platforms such as Itch.IO, Steam, and other platforms containing authors expressing themselves:

Capitulating to the credit card companies over sexual content is worse than banning books from a library for it's content. Fictional works are just that, fictional. Banning it's content base on someone else's conservative views is simply puritanical. It's an infringement on the rights of the authors to express themselves as individuals. In the U.S. it is an infringement of the 1st Amendment.

It would be ok to make safeguards that make security tight around the sales of such content, so that age verification, and rights waivers can be verified before payment is made, but outright banning the content is wrong. Shame on any platform that capitulates to the payment processors in this regard. Shame on the payment processors for capitulating to a single campaign of 70000 people who don't necessarily speak for the other 7 Billion people on the planet.

Yes, it's really unfortunate. Thanks for the words of encouragement.
